MILITARY GOVERNOR, IMO STATE, SEPTEMBER 4, 1985 TO AUGUST, 1986

Then a Navy Captain before appointment to replace the then Brigadier Ike Omar Sanda Nwachukwu. He was born on March 7, 1944. He hails from Inyi in Oji River of Enugu State. he had a brilliant career as a Naval Officer. He was commissioned a Sub. Lieutenant in September, 1967, had various on Board and Ashore appointments between 1968 and 1972. He served as a Naval Attaché, accredited to the U.S.A department of Defense, (Naval) from the Nigerian Embassy, Washington DC before he was appointed Military Governor of old Anambra State in 1983.

Governor Madueke had distinguished himself in many fields right from the Secondary School days. Rear Admiral Madueke was the winner of Eastern Nigeria Shell Essay Competition in 1962. He was married to late Uche, and later he remarried Diezani Madueke, the immediate past Minister of Petroleum Resources.
